What Is the MB-01 30-Plate Heat Exchanger?

Heat exchangers are used in heating and cooling systems to transfer heat between two liquids. They are machines in which different fluids pass through opposite surfaces of the exchanger plates, transferring heat through the plates without mixing. They can be used to heat or cool water, oil, and similar liquids. To explain the basic principle: water coming from a heat source such as a combi boiler enters and exits the first plate of the exchanger, while cold water from the system enters and exits through the second plate. As these two liquids pass through without mixing, the copper plates between them equalize their temperatures by transferring heat from one to the other. In other words, when a hot and a cold liquid enter through the top connections of the exchanger, the liquids exiting through the bottom connections are at nearly equal temperatures. You can see how it works in the diagram below.

Features

The plates and connections are made of stainless steel to AISI 316 standard. Vacuum-brazed with 1.4401 copper. Specially designed plates that provide the turbulent flow required for effective heat transfer and have a high level of mechanical strength.

Fouling

Solid particle count must be less than 10 mg per liter.

Particle size < 0.6 mm (spherical)

Fiber-like particles can cause a rapid pressure drop.

Temperature Range

-196ºC
+200ºC

Freezing point and boiling point must be taken into account.
