Mit is a brand in the Supomp catalog offering plate heat exchangers. Brazed plate heat exchangers are available in various plate counts and connection sizes such as 3/4 and 1/2 inch. Plate heat exchangers transfer heat between two separate fluid circuits without mixing the fluids; they are used in applications such as producing domestic hot water from a boiler or solar energy circuit, separating an underfloor heating circuit, and heating pool water. As the plate count increases, the heat transfer surface area and capacity grow. When selecting a heat exchanger, consider the amount of heat to be transferred, circuit temperatures, and flow rates; fitting Y-strainers at the inlets prevents narrow channels from becoming blocked.
