What Is a Pressure Reducing Valve (Pressure Regulator)?
The air pressure used in pneumatic circuits must be reduced to the desired operating pressure. Pneumatic pressure regulators reduce the system pressure to an adjustable operating pressure and maintain it largely constant despite variations in air consumption and fluctuations in system pressure. Pneumatic pressure regulators only work in the pressure-reducing direction; it is not possible to set a pressure higher than the line pressure.
It prevents problems that may arise from sudden increases in the city water supply pressure. It minimizes the risk of pipe bursts in the plumbing of your home and/or workplace. Models with a pressure gauge are recommended for ease of adjustment.
