What Is a Pressure Reducing Valve (Regulator)?
The air pressure to be used in pneumatic circuits must be reduced and set to the desired working pressure. Pneumatic pressure regulators reduce system pressure to an adjustable working pressure. They maintain it largely constant despite variations in air consumption and fluctuations in system pressure. Pneumatic pressure regulators work only in the direction of reducing line pressure. It is not possible to set a pressure higher than the line pressure.
It prevents problems that may arise from sudden increases in municipal supply pressure. It minimizes the risk of pipe bursts in the plumbing of your home and/or workplace. Types with a pressure gauge are recommended for ease of adjustment.
