What Is the Welko EL 30C-16 Plate Heat Exchanger?
Heat exchangers are used in heating and cooling systems to transfer heat between two fluids. They are machines that allow different fluids to pass along opposite sides of the exchanger plates, transferring heat through the plates without the fluids mixing with each other. They can be used to heat or cool water, oil, milk, and similar liquids. To explain the basic principle for heating: water coming from a heat source such as a combi boiler enters and exits the first plate of the exchanger, while cold water from the system enters and exits through the second plate. As these two fluids pass through without mixing, the copper plates between them transfer heat from one fluid to the other, equalizing their temperatures. In other words, when a cold and a hot fluid enter through the top connections of the exchanger, the temperatures of the fluids exiting from the bottom connections are nearly equal.
