What Is a Booster Pump?

Booster pumps are automatic pumps used to pressurize water where mains pressure is insufficient. They can be used on their own or, in some plumbing systems, together with a water storage tank.

They pressurize mains water in homes, apartments, buildings, villas, and residential complexes, or deliver water from a storage tank to the plumbing system under pressure.

These are small domestic booster pumps ideal for residential use. With a suction lift capacity of 7 m, they deliver maximum suction even in locations where the water supply is aerated. They can be used reliably wherever low power consumption and high pressure are required. These are long-lasting booster pumps suitable for buildings of up to 4 floors and 6 apartments, as well as for garden irrigation.

Our booster pumps are assembled from quality materials, fully tested, and shipped to the customer in perfect working order. All settings are pre-configured; only the plumbing and electrical connections need to be made. Covered by a 2-year warranty.

The pre-charge gas pressure of the expansion vessel must be checked every 6 months and any pressure loss must be topped up.

In booster pumps, the advantage of the expansion vessel is that when small amounts of water are used, the booster pump does not activate — it first draws from the water stored in the tank, and only starts the pump when the tank is empty. The advantage of this is that the pump does not stop and start on every water use, resulting in a longer service life. In other words, the larger the expansion vessel in your booster pump, the more water it stores, so the pump works less and lasts longer.

    If the booster pump will draw water from a storage tank, it is advisable to use a level float switch in case the tank runs dry. If the tank runs dry, it will stop the unit from operating and prevent motor damage. When the tank refills, the booster pump will automatically resume operation.
