Product description
What Is a Hand Pump and Where Is It Used?
Hand pumps are suction pumps used to bring water below ground level (i.e., at a negative elevation) up to the surface. A pump generally consists of four main parts: the body, piston, check valve, and piston rod. As you press down, the pump evacuates the air inside and expels it outward, allowing the water to rise. They can draw water from depths of up to 12 m. Before you start pumping, pour a small amount of water into the body; this improves suction, prevents piston wear, and creates a better vacuum since it will not draw air. What Are the Features of a Hand Pump?
- Can draw water from depths of up to 12 m.
- Operated manually by human power.
- The lower pipe connection is size 40, i.e., 1-1/4".
- Can be used for drawing water and non-viscous liquids.
