Cranes are generally intended for transporting long and bulky loads. To transport these loads safely, the operator controlling the crane must remain at a safe distance from the load being moved. Cab-mounted controls are not suitable for allowing personnel to stay away from the load being transported. This is where the need for remote control systems for cranes arises. Remote control systems work by mounting a control receiver on the crane's power control panel, with signals transmitted between the receiver and the hand-held transmitter (pendant) operated by the personnel. This enables personnel to transport loads safely and in a controlled manner.
