What Is ULV (Ultra Low Volume) Area Spraying?

ULV (Ultra Low Volume) is an aerosol mist created using an extremely fine atomization technique. By spreading the minimum amount of product over the maximum area, it provides fast and effective treatment. In indoor ULV applications, the goal is to distribute the agent effectively throughout the space. In terms of residual activity, residual applications always have higher persistence than ULV applications.

The ULV method is used particularly in pest control to better observe the "flush out" effect, while in disinfection applications, ULV is used to better "saturate" the space with disinfectant and to allow the solution mist to reach hard-to-access areas.

In ULV — also known as "cold fogging" — the goal is to break the medicated water (solution) into particles that remain suspended in the air for a long time, thereby extending contact time with the air and achieving a definitive outcome from the treatment.

Why Should Disinfection Be Performed with ULV?

In trials of disinfection device applications conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO) for the disinfection of spaces from ceiling to floor against bacteria and viruses present in ambient air, the ULV device has been recognized and recommended as the most effective device. The ULV device breaks the solution into droplets between 9 and 49 microns in size, suspending them in the air for 4–8 hours, and is able to disinfect the entire area from ceiling to floor. Disinfection applications performed with a ULV device spread the disinfectant across the entire area, eliminating microorganisms invisible to the naked eye.

Our ULV cold fogging device features an adjustment valve for controlling the fogging density during disinfection. It is positioned for easy access and adjustment.
The motors used in our ULV disinfection machines are 1,600 W, 100% copper winding, long-lasting motors. A 1-year motor warranty is included.
On our ULV disinfection devices, the height of the spray head is adjustable. For ease of use, the angle can be adjusted 45 degrees up or down.
The on/off button of the ULV disinfection machine is positioned at the end of the handle, allowing single-handed operation. The device can be switched on and off with a single finger movement. The illuminated on/off button indicates when the device is running.
The tank balancing system keeps the tank in a fixed horizontal position when the machine is held up or down during disinfection, preventing the device from air-locking. Leaving the adjustment screws slightly loose is sufficient to use this feature.
