Wilo Z series re-circulation pumps have a technopolymer impeller, an aluminum motor housing, and a bronze pump casing. In hot water systems with a hot water cylinder, they circulate hot water throughout the entire building so that occupants can access hot water instantly at any tap without waiting. There are significant differences between domestic hot water re-circulation pumps and boiler or combi boiler heating pumps. Because fresh water is continuously pumped through re-circulation pumps, the risk of scale buildup is very high. To prevent the pump from seizing and burning out due to scale, the casing is made of smooth, well-finished bronze to prevent scale accumulation. In addition, since the pump is manufactured with a semi-wet rotor, scale buildup between the rotor and stator is minimized. They are single-speed pumps.
