What Is a Booster Pump?

Booster pumps are automatic pumps used to pressurize water where mains pressure is insufficient. They can be used on their own or, in some plumbing systems, together with a water storage tank.

They pressurize mains water in homes, apartments, buildings, villas, and residential complexes, or deliver water from a storage tank to the plumbing system under pressure.

• These are domestic booster pumps ideal for residential use. They can be reliably used in locations where high pressure is needed with low power consumption.
• These booster sets can be used for up to 4 floors and 6 units, as well as for water transfer and garden irrigation systems.
• Our booster pumps are assembled from quality materials, fully tested, and shipped to the customer in perfect working order. All settings are pre-configured; only the plumbing and electrical connections need to be made. Covered by a 2-year warranty.
• The pre-charge gas pressure of the expansion vessel must be checked every 6 months and any pressure loss must be topped up.
• In booster pump systems, the advantage of the expansion vessel is that when only a small amount of water is used, the booster pump does not start; instead, it first uses the water stored in the tank, and the pump starts only when that water is depleted. This means the pump will not start and stop with every water use, resulting in a longer service life. In other words, the larger the expansion vessel of your booster pump, the more water it stores, the less strain is placed on the pump, and the longer it will last.

Plumbing Materials

If your booster set draws water from the same level or above, a check valve must be used on the suction line. A check valve must also be used on the discharge line of the booster set.

To protect your booster pump from debris that may form in the water during suction, you can purchase a Y-strainer.

To ensure your booster pump stops automatically when the water in the tank or well runs out, you need to purchase a float switch. A water level float switch is used only with tank or ball-valve models; a float switch is not needed with pressure-controller-type booster pumps.
