What Is a Pressure Controller?

Pressure controllers are mechanical devices that are fitted to the outlet of a pump to convert it into a booster pump. Booster pumps assembled with a pressure controller do not require separate plumbing components such as a check valve, pressure gauge, or 5-way fitting.

What Is the Pedrollo EasyPro Pressure Controller?

Plumbing Materials

If your booster pump draws suction from the same level or above, a check valve must be used on the suction line. A check valve must also be installed on the discharge line.

If your booster set draws water from below its own level (i.e., from a negative elevation), a foot valve must be used to prevent air entry.

To protect your booster pump from debris that may form in the water during suction, you can purchase a Y-strainer.

To ensure your booster pump stops automatically when the water in the tank or well runs out, you need to purchase a float switch. A water level float switch is used only with tank or ball-valve models; a float switch is not needed with pressure-controller-type booster pumps.
